National TOEFL
Test of English as a Foreign Language
Introduction
The TOEFL is a test
published by Educational Testing Service (ETS). It is used to
evaluate the English proficiency of people whose native language is not
English. Thousands of universities and colleges in the United States
and Canada require it for admission. It is also required by many
government organizations, scholarship programs, licensing or certification
agencies, as well as English speaking schools overseas.
The National version of the
TOEFL is offered on computer and is valid at any institution
worldwide. (The Institutional version is offered on paper and is only valid at the institution where it is taken.)
Cost
$110.00.
Schedule
The test is given year round, Monday - Saturday, at the University of Utah's Prometric
Testing Center. Test takers must pre-register to reserve their place. Usually this must be done at least two months in advance
during the Fall and Winter, and at least one month in advance during the Spring and Summer.

Candidates may register over the telephone with a credit card by calling either the national
Prometric registration number at 800-967-1100, or the local University of Utah Prometric Testing Center at 801-581-7310.
Those who prefer to pay with a check may obtain mail-in registration materials from the
