For each semester for which you want benefits, you must submit a Request for Benefits to our office after carefully reviewing our Information Sheet. One Request for Benefits can cover a full academic year (Fall, Spring and Summer). When registering, keep in mind that courses only meeting a portion of the semester (e.g. 1st half/2nd half/misc.) will only be certified for the days that they meet and may affect your training time.
If you have not already done so, apply for Military Service Credit.
Check Your Student UMail Account. Email is our primary means of communicating with you. Effective May 14, 2007, all official University of Utah student correspondence will be sent to your UMail account. Check your UMail often to avoid missing important information and to be kept informed of any changes in your status with the VA. If we are unable to reach you because you are not checking your UMail, your award might be impacted. For more information on how to set up your UMail account, go to www.it.utah.edu/umail or call the Campus Help Desk at (801) 581-4000.”
