When is my graduation application due?
See Applying to Graduate for information.I need to add a minor to my graduation application. What steps do I need to take?
Complete the Notification of Graduation Change form, which includes obtaining your minor advisor's signature, and submit it to the Registrar's Office, Graduation Division.How do I check the status on my graduation application?
If you applied for graduation for the current commencement year, you can check your status by logging onto the Campus Information System and selecting “Personal Graduation Information” under the Graduation menu. The status will indicate one of the following:
Applied
Indicates that you have applied for graduation, but does not guarantee that you have fulfilled all of the requirements.
Denied
Indicates that you have not completed all of the requirements for graduation.
Awarded
Indicates that you have fulfilled all of the requirements and the degree has been posted to your record.
How do I update my address for my diploma?
Log on to the Campus Information System to change your mailing address. Your diploma will be sent to the mailing address we have on file for you at the time you are cleared for graduation.I submitted my graduation application for the current or a future semester and will not be able to complete all the requirements during that semester. How do I renew or update my graduating semester?
Obtain and complete a Graduation Renewal form available at the Registrar's Office, Graduation Division located at window 15 on the second floor of the Student Services Building.How do I receive information regarding the commencement ceremony?
The information will be updated in February on the Registrar’s Office web site regarding the ceremonies and ordering a cap and gown. For additional information see the Commencement & Convocation. Students must have an active graduation application to participate in the ceremonies.DEGREE POSTING
How long will it take for my degree to post?
It will take up to 90 days from the end of the semester to award all degrees for a given term.I need my degree as soon as possible. Is there any way I can expedite the evaluation process?
The Graduation Division is not able to evaluate students individually however degrees are evaluated and awarded as quickly as possible. It may take up to 90 days after the end of the term to receive your degree but it could be awarded prior to that time.When will the degree be posted to my records (transcript)?
Degrees are awarded after the end of each term. Records for students who have applied for graduation for a specific term will be reviewed within 90 days after the end of the term. Once your degree has been awarded, you will be sent a notification through your Umail account.You can also verify your status by logging onto the Campus Information System and selecting “Personal Graduation Information” under the Graduation menu. The status will indicate one of the following:
Applied
Indicates that you have applied for graduation, but does not guarantee that you have fulfilled all of the requirements.
Denied
Indicates that you have not completed all of the requirements for graduation. You will be sent a letter explaining the deficient requirements.
Awarded
Indicates that you have fulfilled all of the requirements and the degree has been posted to your record.
Withdrawn
Indicates that you are no longer pursuing this degree.
I received a letter saying I was denied for graduation. What should I do?
The letter states the reason you were denied in bold near the top. If it was a General or Bachelor degree requirement, you will need to contact University College at 581-8146. If you were denied by your major, minor or honors department, contact your department.If you will need to complete additional work, you must renew your graduating semester. Obtain and complete a Graduation Renewal form, pay the $25 renewal fee at the Income Accounting Office, and return the form to the Registrar’s Office, Graduation Division. Graduation Renewal forms are available at the Registrar’s Office, Graduation Division located at window 15 on the 2nd floor of the Student Services Building.

I am a graduate student and completed all of the requirements for graduation before the end of the term. When will my degree be posted?
Degrees are awarded after the end of each term, regardless when the requirements were completed. Please log onto the Campus Information System and check your status on the Personal Graduation Information Panel. The status will indicate one of the following:
Applied
Indicates that you have applied for graduation, but does not guarantee that you have fulfilled all of the requirements.
Denied
Indicates that you have not completed all of the requirements for graduation.
Awarded
Indicates that you have fulfilled all of the requirements and the degree has been posted to your record.
Withdrawn
Indicates that you are no longer pursuing this degree.
In most cases, if all requirements are completed and the your paperwork is signed off by the appropriate graduate school, your degree will be awarded within a few weeks after the end of the term.
As a graduate student, where can I find information about my degree requirements, deadlines, and degree posting?
You should contact your department or the Graduate School with these questions.
DIPLOMA REPLACEMENTHow can I get a replacement diploma?
To order a replacement diploma, complete and submit the Diploma Replacement Request. The Replacement Diploma should be mailed to you within 2-4 weeks after the receipt of this form. M.D. and J.D. diplomas can take up to three weeks longer.
