Transfer students entering the U of U for the Summer semester will attend either the Transfer Orientation with Advising
or a First-Year and Transfer Orientation without Advising.
Transfer Orientation with Advising: This six-hour program includes learning about the entering student to-do list, information about general education and bachelor’s degree requirements, academic advising, involvement opportunities and registering for classes. Please take a copy of your Summary of Transfer Credit to orientation.
First-Year and Transfer Orientation without Advising: If you are unable to attend the Transfer Orientation with Advising, we offer a few First-Year and Transfer Orientations without Advising just before the semester begins. These programs include the entering student to-do list, information about graduation requirements, general education and bachelor degree requirements and involvement opportunities. This orientation does NOT include academic advising. Transfer students must meet with an academic advisor prior to registering for classes. If you have met with an academic advisor prior to orientation, you will be able to register at orientation. In order to set up an appointment with an academic advisor, please contact the department you are interested in. If you are an Undecided student, call University College at (801) 581-8146. Please take a copy of your Summary of Transfer Credit when you meet with your advisor.
