APPLY NOW TO BE A CAMPUS LIFE MENTOR
FOR 2012-2013!
Application and Additional Information
Program Overview
The Campus Life Mentor Program at the University of Utah was created to serve new students in their first year on campus. The goal of the program is to connect newly admitted students with sophomore, junior and senior students who have demonstrated success in college. In addition, Campus Life Mentors will outreach directly to an assigned small group of new freshman students and plan community-related events. Campus Life Mentors are committed to helping new students feel at home and promoting community on campus.
How does Peer Mentorship work?
Mentoring can be defined as a trusting and helpful relationship between a more and less experienced individual (student). New students and Campus Life Mentors will meet and communicate regularly throughout the school year. A few of the activities that mentors will do with their small group (or mentees) include fun group activities, study sessions, workshops, on-campus events, or just hanging out. Most of all, Campus Life Mentors want to be a resource, a friend, and someone to call when challenges arise.
Who are the Campus Life Mentors?
Campus Life Mentors remember what it's like to be new at the University of Utah and want to play a positive role in the success of new students. They come from a variety of backgrounds and life experiences and have various career and academic goals.
