Study Site
The University of Cambridge is one of the oldest and finest universities in the world. Since 1923, when the University of Cambridge first provided short periods of study for visitors from all around the world, its International Summer Schools have grown into a large and lively international community, with hundreds of students from all over the globe. The intellectual, artistic and historic environment of Cambridge provides traditional and non-traditional students a unique opportunity to explore the history and culture of Great Britain.

Curriculum                                                         Gardens
The Cambridge program llows you to experience the traditionalBritishuniversity as it has remained over the centuries. You can take courses in politics, history, literature, architecture, science, sociology, and the arts as well as coursesrelating to English life and culture.

If you would like to take a variety of different course subjects during your stay in Cambridge, you may want to enroll in either Term I or Term II, or both. This will allow you a broad overview of British culture, the humanities, arts, and sciences, from an international vantage point.

Alternatively, Special Subject Programs offer more focused study of a particular subject. For example, you could take coursework just focused on English literature, science, history, or art history. You may choose to take either one Special Subject Program or two during your stay in Cambridge. Detailed information on each course can be found here.

Both Term I / Term II, and the Special Subject Programs offer small class sizes. Plenary and general lectures are given by senior members of the University and distinguished visiting speakers. Prior to departure, you will receive recommended reading lists, course syllabus, and suggested essay topics for courses selected.

Faculty
All courses are taught by University of Cambridge faculty or visiting professors from other British universities.

Accomodation                                                                                                                       King's College
Accommodation will be “in college,” in rooms occupied by Cambridge students during the academic year. If youapply early, you may be living in an historic and picturesque college that has been inhabited for hundreds of years. Each student will have their own single bedroom with shared bathroom facilities. Rooms are regularlytidied by the college housekeeping staff known as “the bedders.”

Meals
Participants who choose to dine “in college” will have two daily meals (breakfast and dinner) included in their program cost. Breakfast is a full British breakfast served buffet-style. Dinner is a more formal three-course meal. Both meals are served in the college dining hall, in a traditional college presentation. A “no meals” option is offered for those who prefer to purchase meals in local cafes, restaurants, or pubs, or tea rooms. Students may choose to have lunch at the “Buttery,” a snackbar at the classroom site, or at nearby pubs. There are several inexpensive lunch options within a fifteen minute walk.
