University of Wales, Aberystwyth

Wales' wild west coast, from which you can see Ireland on a clear day, is the setting for the University at Aberystwyth.  The University was recently graded "excellent" in teaching quality and research by the British Government’s comprehensive assessment of institutions of higher education.  Aberystwyth has a flourishing social, cultural, and sporting scene.  There are musical performances, a film festival, and the university has an on campus Arts Center.  Major subject areas include: accounting and finance, American studies, art & art history, biological sciences, business, education, earth sciences, environmental science, film and television studies, geography, physics, and many others.  For more information visit their website.

University of East Anglia

Located in Saxon Norwich the University of East Anglia consistently ranks in polls among the top universities in the United Kingdom.  Much that England has to offer is concentrated here with the city of London less than two hours by train. University of Hull

Hull

Murdoch

Murdoch is a vibrant university with an enrollment of 11,500 students.  The campus is located about twenty minutes from Perth city center.  Its peaceful bushland setting makes it one of the most beautiful campuses in Australia. Akita International University
Akita University is located in Akita City (pop. 336,250) in the Tohoku region of Japan. A small university of about 1200 students, it consists of the departments of Education and Human Studies (including an emphasis on regional studies), Medicine, and Engineering & Resource Science. The Tohoku region has four distinct seasons with short summers and long winters. The 250 year old Kanto Festival in August displays the culture of the Akita Clan every year, and the city has several art museums including works of Tsuguji Fujita and Kanzo Okada in their collections.  For more information, please visit the Akita website.

Kansai Gaidai University

Kansai GaidaiThe Kansai Gaidai University of Foreign Studies is located in the city of Hirakata, which is midway between Osaka— a major city of commerce since the eighteenth century, and Kyoto—the ancient capital of Japan.  Kansai Gaidai has an enrollment of over 11,000.  The Asian Studies Program is designed for students from all over the world to gain experience with the culture of Japan as well as its East Asian neighbors.  For this program no previous study of Japanese is necessary.  Kansai Gaidai offers Japanese classes for everyone—from beginner to advanced.  The variety of courses include: business, political science, theatre, literature, ceramics, painting and the arts.  They also offer courses in traditional arts including tea ceremony and calligraphy.  Read more about Kansai Gaidai on their website.

Sogang University

Sogang University in Seoul is the only Jesuit higher educational institution in Korea.  Offering more than 24 different undergraduate majors, about 30% of classes are taught in English.  Sogang offers a special "Study and Work Experience Program" that offers students the opportunity to study for a full semester (Fall or Spring) and then stay on for a 2-month internship programs.  Applicants who are selected for this program receive a tuition waivier, a $2,000 cash scholarship and free enrollment in a Korean language class.  For more information, visit their website.

Yonsei University

Yonsei University in Seoul is recognized at Korea's premier research-oriented private university. University of Utah students have the option of taking Korean language classes or classes from a variety of majors that are taught in English or Korean.  For more information, visit their website.

Providence University

Providence University is located in Shalu, Taichung County, Taiwan and offers some courses taught in English including Business, Literature and Linguistics. Exchange students can also study intensive Chinese at the Chinese Language Education Center. National Sun Yat-sen University

National Sun Yat-sen University is located alongside the Hsitzu Bay of Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. Students can study intensive Chinese language at the NSYSU Chinese Language Center or take classes taught in English through the College of Management, College of Liberal Arts, College of Social Science, College of Marine Science or College of Science.  For more information, visit their website.

Middle East Technical University

METU is one of Turkey's most competitive universities with 21,000 students from 50 different countries. Students can take classes in 47 undergraduate programs in the faculties of Architecture, Arts & Sciences (including Social Sciences), Economic and Administrative Sciences, Education, and Engineering. It is located on a spacious campus in Turkey’s capital of Ankara.
