The Nagoya Broadcasting Network Scholarship in International Studies provides financial assistance to University of Utah students wishing to incorporate an international experience into their academic program.
As the need for an international perspective and global understanding continues to grow, students are seeking opportunities for internships with multi-national corporations, service projects in the developing world or cross-cultural work experiences in their chosen field. The Nagoya International Scholarship Program seeks to support opportunities such as these for University of Utah students.
The awards are based on merit and need and will vary in amount up to $2,000 depending on program cost and resources available. Recipients are determined by committee review.
Eligibility
- Matriculated status at the University of Utah.
- Completion of at least two semesters of coursework in residence prior to departure.
- Priority will be given to students who have not received a study abroad scholarship.
- Priority will be given to proposals for non-traditional international activities.
Scholarship Deadlines
- October 1 for Semester and Academic Year programs beginning Spring semester
- February 1 for Short-Term Summer programs
- April 1 for Semester and Academic year programs beginning Fall semester
Application Process
Submit the following items to the International Center Study Abroad Office, 159 Union Building:
- A description of your proposed international program or experience and a cost breakdown.
- A one-page personal statement discussing the relevance of your proposed program to your personal and academic goals.
- Letters of recommendation from two individuals who can effectively articulate your personal and academic strengths.
- A current transcript.
- A Resume or a Curriculum Vitae.
Note: The Nagoya International Scholarship does not apply to programs for which there are other U of U scholarship funds available.
