Intellectual Explorations Study Abroad Scholarship

Available to:

Matriculated full-time students who have completed 24 semester hours in residence (excluding credit by examination) at the University of Utah, with a 3.0 or higher GPA, prior to departure for study abroad. Priority is given to students who will be sophomores or juniors during their study abroad program, whose proposed study abroad program will contribute to the completion of general education requirements, and who have not previously received a study abroad scholarship through the University of Utah.

$500 to $1,500.

Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Council Scholarship

Available to:

Members of Greek-letter organizations.

Scholarship for Descendents of Disabled Miners

Available to:

Children and/or grandchildren of disabled miners.

Application:

Applications are available on the Web.  Please fill out an Application for Scholarships Based on Financial Need located on the U of U Scholarship Web site under Printable Application.  Please indicate "Miners Scholarship" on the line provided for that purpose.

In addition to the scholarship application, please submit a statement ("To Whom it May Concern..."), in which mention is made of the name of the relative who worked in the Utah mining industry, and the circumstance of his disabling injury, illness or disability that resulted due to the person's work as a miner.

Value:

Four-year scholarship, which covers tuition and books, no fees.

Number of Awards:

Two. One scholarship is offered through the College of Nursing or the College of Health in a field related to the health care of miners (i.e. Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Audiology, etc.)  The second scholarship will be available for study in any of the other colleges at the University of Utah.
