Select resident high school seniors, who will be entering freshmen and who qualify for the Honors at Entrance Scholarship. Selection is based on academic excellence, leadership, and civic activities. Refer to “Honors at Entrance Scholarship” heading below, for additional qualification criteria.

Application:

All semifinalists chosen from Honors at Entrance Scholarship applicants will be invited to apply. The application deadline is announced to each President’s Scholarship semifinalist. As a semifinalist, it is the responsibility of the student to ensure that all required documents are on file at the University by the deadline. Once notified of a missing document, the student must contact the source of the document and the University to ensure that the document reaches the University before the deadline.

Applications for this scholarship will be processed when the following criteria are met:

            - You have completed the admission application process no later

               than February 1.

            - You have been admitted as a matriculated student.

            - You have met qualifications for the

               Honors at Entrance Scholarship.

            - You have submitted the appropriate application materials

               (sent to each semifinalist) by the deadline stipulated by the

                selection committee.

Value:

A total of approximately $27,000 (which includes a resident tuition waiver, fees, plus an additional cash award) for a maximum of 8 semesters or until the student receives a baccalaureate degree, whichever comes first. Tuition and fees up to and including 18 hours per semester are covered.

Approximately 50.

Renewal:

Recipients must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.7 and complete 24 hours of course work (20 of which must be graded) every two semesters. Grades are reviewed after the second, fourth, and sixth semester.

Deadline:

The application deadline is announced to each President’s Scholarship semifinalist. As a semifinalist, it is the responsibility of the student to ensure that all required documents are on file at the University by the deadline.
