Departmental scholarships are available to continuing and transfer students through all departments of the College of Engineering.  Application forms are available from the academic counselor at each department. Departmental scholarship applications should be sent directly to the departmental contact of your intended major (see following list), not  to the College of Engineering Dean's Office. Indicate on the application your intended major.

Transfer student applicants should include two letters of recommendation and college transcripts.

Clyde Christensen Freshman Scholarships

Application:

The application form for the Clyde Christensen Freshman Scholarship is available online at www.coe.utah.edu, or at the Dean's Office, 214 KENN B. Departmental scholarship applications from freshman students will be accepted, as well as the University's scholarship application. However, the application must be accompanied by high school transcripts, which include ACT scores. 

Deadline:

Application deadline is March 1.

 

Josephine Beam Scholarship

Available to:

Continuing engineering students matriculated in the College of Engineering who have financial need. 

Application:

Contact the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office for special application materials. Submit the online application to the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office and submit the Federal Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) to the Federal Processor.

Provided by:

Josephine Beam security benefits from a will.

Value:

Varies. Lifetime limit is $2,000.

Program for Diversity in Engineering (PDE) Scholarships

Available to:

Continuing engineering students in good academic standing who are U.S. citizens and members of an underrepresented ethnic or gender group. Occasionally awarded to entering freshmen who declare an engineering major.

$500 per year.

The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department offers a number of scholarships to entering freshmen, continuing, transfer, and graduate students.  The exact number and amount of each scholarship is based on the income earned from the Department’s endowed scholarship accounts and the number of applicants and their qualifications.  Persons wishing to be considered for a scholarship must submit a Civil & Environmental Engineering Department Scholarship Application to the Department.  Scholarship applications available through the University of Utah Financial Aid and Scholarships Office will not be accepted.  Application information and forms may be found  on the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department website at  www.civil.utah.edu/.

The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department has scholarships available each year for entering freshmen and for continuing and transfer students. These include tuition scholarships for Utah residents and the scholarship funds listed below. Application deadline is February 15. Continuing and transfer students should apply using the application form available in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department office, Room 3280, Merrill Engineering Building. Entering freshmen should print the Application for Departmental Scholarships and the University of Utah Recommendation Form .  Follow the instructions on the application form.
