Service-Learning Scholars Program
The Service-Learning Scholars Program is an academically challenging program that supports and recognizes University of Utah students in addressing community needs. Students are encouraged to apply their academic knowledge to community issues while developing leadership and organizational skills necessary for future civic involvement.

Service-Learning Scholar Graduates complete the following:
- 400 Service Hours
- 6 Credit Hours of Service-Learning or Service-Learning Related Classes
- A 1 Credit Seminar Course
- A 3 Credit Leadership Course
- 8 events through the SLS Educational Series
- Integrative Service Project
Graduates from the program are recognized each year in the following ways:
- an awards banquet
- a ribbon of distinction worn on the graduation robe
- special recognition at the graduation ceremony
- a certificate of achievement
- a service-learning distinction on university transcript
