Community-Based Research
Community-based research is a process by which community organizations are active partners with faculty in identifying the issues and therefore the research question(s), designing appropriate interventions and/or research methodologies, implementing the intervention and/or study, and analyzing and interpreting the results. In this context community partners and the constituencies they serve are not viewed as “subjects” to be experimented on or observed, but as knowledgeable contributors to the research.
