What you can do as an advisee:

1. Take responsibility for learning and complying with University requirements, policies, and procedures.

2. Be prepared for advising sessions by bringing appropriate documents (i.e., transcripts, DARS, summary of transfer credit, test scores), making a list of questions and concerns, planning a tentative schedule, etc.

3. Honestly communicate your unique interests, abilities, and circumstances with your advisor.

4. Take responsibility for achieving your success and accepting the consequences of your academic and personal decisions.

5. Keep up with your academic progress and maintain your own advising file.

6. Meet with your advisor regularly.
